Alexandro Vielma, a junior at Sonora High in California, won the 3-mile boys varsity race in 15:12.4 at the ASICS Temecula Twilight Invitational at Galway Downs in Temecula, Calif. Vielma originally believed he had run 15:03.4, but a timing correction later adjusted the time by nine seconds for all athletes in the field. Vielma helped Sonora place third overall as a team with 136 points.
